FEMA Hazard Mitigation

Clark County, Nevada

BEC was subcontracted by URS Corporation, to assist in the preparation of Clark County’s Hazard Mitigation Plan. BEC developed community profiles, including identification of potential hazards, probability of future occurrences for identified hazards, and a risk assessment for various communities within Clark County based on the information obtained.

Hazards evaluated in the risk assessment included flash flooding, extreme heat, drought, subsidence, wildfires, avalanche, and severe winter storms. The information prepared by BEC was incorporated in Clark County’s overall Hazard Mitigation Plan, which was prepared under a grant from and subsequently submitted to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
