Erika Balderson
Erika Balderson has more than ten years of experience in the U.S. Coast Guard and in the fields of biology and ecology. Working for private consulting firms and government agencies, she has served as a project manager, biologist, inspector, and researcher. As a project manager, Erika has assisted in the review and evaluation of the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection's (NDEP) Wellhead Protection Program (WHPP), providing recommendations to NDEP for improving the program. As a biologist in Las Vegas, she has assisted on surveys for Gopherus agassizii (Mojave Desert tortoise) and sensitive plant species for the US Army Corps of Engineers and private projects. Erika has conducted air and water quality assessments in accordance with regional, county, and state regulations. She has also conducted population surveys for university and federal organizations. Her work has also included monitoring construction site activities for compliance with Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans and the California Clean Air Act as well as monitoring and surveying activities for the US Coast Guard and U.S. Forest Service. Erika's responsibilities for BEC include groundwater protection program development, conducting biological surveys, geographical data acquisition and interpretation (as BEC's GIS specialist), technical research, project map development and marketing.
