Francesca Hsie

Francesca Hsie specializes in grant writing and public outreach, providing a knowledgeable and accessible point of contact for both stakeholders and the general public. A graduate of Boston University, Francesca received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Serving as an intern in the offices of two United States Senators and a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, she has gained a solid foundation of experience in government procedures at the local, state and federal levels. This background, coupled with her clear and concise writing style, make her a valuable addition to our grants team.

Francesca's grant responsibilities with BEC include grant monitoring, reporting, research, budget preparation and writing. She has prepared or assisted in the preparation and submission of applications, work plans, and reporting documentation in support of grants to a variety of state and federal agencies, including the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), US Bureau of Reclamation, US Department of Energy (DOE), US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), US Department of Transportation (DOT), US Forest Service (USFS), Nevada State Office of Energy, Nevada State Office for the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development (RD), Nevada Commission on Economic Development (NCED), Nevada Commission on Cultural Affairs (CCA), Nevada Division of State Parks (NDSP) and Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP).

In addition to these responsibilities, Francesca directs document development and technical research; attends meetings and workshops on behalf of clients; facilitates government interaction; responds to agency requests for information; coordinates meetings; and supervises report preparation, including preparing and submitting documents required for compliance with federal reporting requirements.
