Nye County, Nevada

BEC assists Nye County in identifying and pursuing a variety of environmental-related economic development opportunities throughout the county. BEC has created and continually updates a funding resources index to match project opportunities with available funds. BEC has also prepared several grant applications with approval from and at the direction of the Nye County Board of Commissioners. Information regarding two specific projects is provided below. Additional information regarding any of the projects listed on this page is available upon request.

BEC has assisted Nye County Commissioners with the preparation of two Congressional Grant requests to obtain $750,000 in funding for renewable energy programs throughout Nye County, and an additional $1,000,000 for the planning and construction of a multi- generational, multi-purpose community facility in Amargosa Valley.

BEC is assisting Nye County with completion of a HUD funding application for renovations at the Tonopah Fitness Center and to expand that facility’s use to include a physical therapy. As part of the application, BEC is completing a Categorical Exclusion document to address environmental resources that could impact or be impacted by the project. This document is required under NEPA for federal funding.
