Tonopah Airport Reuse Plan

Tonopah, Nevada

BEC was contracted through a joint effort by the Nye County Natural Resources Office (on behalf of the County's Economic Development efforts) and MaryEllen C. Giampaoli, Environmental Compliance Specialist (on behalf of Nye County's Brownfields program), to prepare a reuse plan for the Tonopah Airport, a US Army Corps of Engineers-classified "Formerly Utilized Defense Site."

BEC activities in support of the reuse plan included site visits, review of historical records, evaluation of environmental issues and community outreach activities to assist in the identification of potential development opportunities.

BEC was tasked with identifying development barriers and available resources, and making recommendations for a path forward in the redevelopment of this former Brownfields site.
