Reuse Planning Reuse Planning allows communities to bring vacant or under-utilized properties to their highest and best use. Proper planning can help a community make the most of its available resources to develop sustainable projects that improve the quality of life for their residents. The reuse planning process also seeks to identify and mitigate development barriers in order to facilitate property redevelopment. Starting with community outreach and site visits, BEC works with communities to identify their specific goals and needs for the reuse planning process. BEC performs technical reviews of environmental, master planning and historical information to identify both development barriers and potential markets for development. Once barriers and opportunities have been identified, BEC presents its findings to the community and continues its stakeholder coordination efforts to ensure the final reuse plan is compatible with the community's needs and goals. |
